The UIC pallet, also known as the “EUR” pallet, is the original model of today’s Euro pallet, designed in the 1960s by the Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer (UIC) for railway transport.
Its 800 × 1200 mm format and 4-way forklift entry made it a universal carrier still circulating today between factories, rail ramps, and hypermarkets. How is a UIC pallet made?

Cutting – Tolerance of ±1 mm guarantees perfect alignment of blocks and boards.
Automated assembly – Robots drive in 78 spiral nails (DIN 1052) in a precise pattern – this is the core of the UIC pallet’s strength.
Marking – The left block is branded with the “EUR” oval, the right with the IPPC code, and the center with the manufacturer’s license number and year of production. Only such markings grant the right to participate in the official exchange pool.
Quality testing – Random pallets from each batch undergo thorough quality inspection.
